Pre-Training

I’ve been experiencing knee pain while squatting since I injured my knee last November. It faded a bit, but never went away completely. So in the last few months before my year of power I’ve been working on a few things to help correct my injured knees.

My stride was putting a lot of strain on my knees (I used to walk slightly duck-footed), so I’ve *ahem* taken steps to correct that. Also replaced the worn out insoles in my work boots and running shoes to ensure proper arch support. Finally, I’ve taken some time off heavy leg lifts, and always wear knee braces when I’m working on any lifts from a standing position. Knee pain is receding rapidly, and the joints feel stronger every day.

You join me at the end of my crossfit days. Don’t worry, this isn’t a crossfit blog. I tried it out for a number of years, but I’ve realized that it’s just not for me. But I’ve already committed to running the Tough Mudder one more time. So the Year of Power begins immediately after I get back from that. See you soon.

Training is going well. Keeping the site fairly minimal for now. But I’m regularly adding new content. Keep checking back for more.
